Your audience doesn't open LinkedIn to be lectured. They want to hear real stories from people doing real work. Teach through your experience, not from a textbook.
Pattern 3: Announcing insights instead of showing them
What ChatGPT does: "I realized that what truly matters is authenticity."
What your audience sees: Manufactured wisdom. The TED talk voice that signals "I have nothing specific to say."
What works instead: Just show what happened. Don't frame it as a revelation. The insight lands harder when your reader discovers it themselves through your story.
Note: simple expressions like "I noticed" or "looking back" are fine — they're how humans naturally reflect. The problem is the dramatic reveal format.
Pattern 4: Inventing metrics that don't exist

What your audience sees: A made-up number. Technical audiences are especially good at spotting statistics that sound impressive but have no source.
What works instead: Use your real numbers, even if they're small. "Went from 178 to 7,337 impressions in 30 days" is more credible than any invented percentage because it's specific and verifiable.
If you didn't measure it, don't claim it.
Pattern 5: Falling back on startup clichés
What ChatGPT does: "This was a total game-changer for my business."
What your audience sees: The verbal equivalent of stock photography. Zero information content wrapped in enthusiasm.
What works instead: Describe what actually changed. "Our support tickets dropped from 12 per day to 3" says more than any cliché ever could.

What your audience sees: Someone claiming to speak for thousands of people they've never met.
What works instead: Speak from your own experience. "I" is more powerful than "we" because it's honest. You're one founder sharing one perspective — and that's exactly what your audience wants.
