Cookie Policy
Last updated: September 13, 2026
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember that you are signed in and keep its forms secure. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage; this policy covers those too.
2. How We Use Cookies
We currently run no analytics; only strictly necessary session cookies are set.
| Category | Purpose | Consent |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Sign-in session, sign-in security, bot protection, remembering your choices | Not required — the site cannot work without them |
3. Cookies and Storage We Use
3.1 Strictly necessary
- Sign-in session (
better-auth.session_token): keeps you signed in. Provider: Growty. Duration: 7 days, refreshed while you use the app. - Session cache (
better-auth.session_data): avoids a database lookup on every page. Provider: Growty. Duration: 5 minutes. - Sign-in security state: protects the LinkedIn, Google and GitHub sign-in flows against forgery (CSRF). Provider: Growty. Duration: 10 minutes.
- Referral code (
ref): set only when you arrive through a referral link, so the referral survives sign-in. Provider: Growty. Duration: 1 hour. - Cloudflare Turnstile: bot protection on our sign-up and sign-in forms; may use cookies and local storage to verify you are human. Provider: Cloudflare. Duration: session.
- Cookie choice and theme: your consent decision and light/dark preference. Storage: browser local storage, not a cookie. Duration: until you clear it.
3.2 Analytics
We currently run no analytics; only strictly necessary session cookies are set. There is nothing to opt out of.
4. Third-Party Cookies
Two third parties can set cookies in connection with Growty. Their cookies are governed by their own policies:
- Cloudflare (proxy and Turnstile): Cloudflare Privacy Policy
- LinkedIn (when you sign in with LinkedIn, on linkedin.com): LinkedIn Cookie Policy
Our AI provider (OpenAI) is called from our server and never from your browser, so it sets no cookies on this site.
5. Managing Cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you:
- View what cookies are stored on your device
- Delete all or specific cookies
- Block cookies from specific websites or altogether
Note: blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in to Growty.
Browser-Specific Instructions
6. Do Not Track
Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is no industry standard for responding to it, and we do not change our behaviour based on it — but since we set only strictly necessary cookies by default, there is nothing to track unless you opt in.
7. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date.
